Just in the nick of time! February has been a busy month for NEAFP in and
out of the mill and we are happy to announce two new upcoming products in
this month's NEAFP Note. A Diabetic Sock, and Mittens - to get a

We also will be running a sale for the month of March - Free Shipping and

NEAFP has also been busy working on several business articles for alpaca

Happy Holidays from everyone here at The New England Alpaca Fiber Pool. 2008 has proven to be an amazing year for the development of the U.S. Alpaca Fiber Industry and we all have a lot to be thankful for. Stay Warm and give your herd a hug for us!

In this month's NEAFP Note we discuss The Story Behind Our Products and Business Planning tips and resources for 2009.

The Story Behind Our Products - One of the biggest selling points behind all of our products is the feel good story behind them. The raw fiber that is used to make them is collected from U.S. Alpaca Farms across the country. It is then sorted, graded, cleaned and bailed in a century old textile mill in New England. From there it goes off to be scoured, spun into yarn, and then sent to many different manufacturers across the country. All of the commercial manufacturers we do business with have been hand picked because of their core values and dedication to the U.S. Textile Industry. They are family owned and operated businesses, who employ people in their communities and pay them a fair living wage. When an end consumer buys finished products from you at the local Farmer's Market or your Farm Store, they are supporting many responsible businesses, manufacturers, and alpaca farmers...

Tis the Season to be... Business Planning! - I know I know, right about now you are all cursing me as a I suggest one more thing to add to your never ending list of things to do. Between running the Farm, Selling Animals / Products, managing your Home, and getting ready for the Holiday Season, there isn't much time left in the day to take a step back and analyze the big picture. Although we are all short on time and energy, this is one of the most important aspects of running a successful business...

As the Holiday season approaches we know that many of your upcoming orders are time sensitive for events you are running or attending. We just wanted to give everyone a heads up that our mill will be closed Nov. 26th, Nov. 27th, and Nov. 28th for the Thanksgiving Holiday.

We will not be packing or shipping any orders during that time, so it is important that everyone plans accordingly. If you need products during that time or by that time, we encourage you to place your orders this week and choose UPS over USPS. As the Holiday season approaches, USPS becomes slower and less reliable so to ensure prompt delivery and accurate tracking, we recommend choosing UPS for time sensitive orders. Our November Sale will run until Dec. 1st so everyone can still take advantage of the savings during this time, but we will not be shipping out of the mill until after Thanksgiving.
