Everyone here at NEAFP is really excited about the tremendous year we have had. As more and more alpaca farms turn towards increasing their cash flow by embracing the fiber side of their business, we are seeing tremendous growth in the U.S. Alpaca Fiber Industry. Even with a down turned economy, Farms from across the country are getting great responses to our products, and although people are tightening their wallets, they certainly are more than eager to support local businesses and farms in their communities.
This is a great time for our customers to sit down and tally up how much inventory they will need to service the rest of the Holiday Season and place your orders in the next couple of weeks to take advantage of this 2 week Sale. Make sure you are stocked up for the Holidays - Place your orders soon to ensure you have everything you need. We are continiuing to set new fiber processing and product sales records each year, and we want to make sure the farms that need products for re-sale will have them this Holiday Season.
Alpaca Fiber Selling Points
As more and more alpaca farms embrace the fiber side of their businesses, it is important to brush up on the different selling points of Alpaca Fiber and the finished products made from it. The same talking points regarding Animal Sales aren't going to help you in the Fiber Nook or at the Farmer's Market, so let's review some of the great features of Alpaca Fiber and the finished products it goes into.
Naturally Insulating - Alpaca is lighter, stronger, and warmer than wool because of its semi-hollow structure. Many synthetics have been created in labs to mimic the same characteristics Alpaca fiber produces naturally. The Fiber's cores trap air, making it lighter, but a better insulator than other natural fibers on the market.
Hypoallergenic and Anti-Microbial - Unlike wool, Alpaca does not contain the natural oil Lanolin. Many people who find wool scratchy and irritating to their skin, are allergic to substances found in the Lanolin oil. Alpaca Fiber also has a smooth outer surface, which makes it one of the finest and softest fibers to the touch. This smooth surface also prevents the products from trapping bacteria and other odor causing agents.
Moisture Wicking - Alpaca Fiber has a semi-hollow structure, which allows it to wick moisture away from the skin and trap warmth. The garments are very warm but allow the skin to breathe. Alpaca finished goods are wearable for many different seasons, adding more appeal to the end consumer.
Renewable Natural Resource - Alpaca in the United States are sheared once a year and the process is simple and quick. No animals are harmed while collecting the fiber, as well as creating all of our products. The Alpaca itself is also very easy on the land, with a highly evolved digestive system, little is wasted and they do not overeat. It's manure also makes a great addition to soil for gardener's looking to improve the overall quality of their soil.
Made in U.S.A. - Supporting Domestic Businesses and Products has never been more important and is crucial to the expansion and growth of the U.S. Alpaca Industry. 100% of NEAFP's products are created by Alpaca Fiber grown in the United States and are manufactured in this country from start to finish. From the beginning this has been one of the core values of our company and we are proud of the fact that we have been producing Made in the USA Alpaca Products for over 12 years now.
